BackerKit is Live!
almost 5 years ago – Mon, Jun 03, 2019 at 11:01:37 PM

Decided to go with BackerKit and the Surveys have now been sent out to everyone in the Kickstarter! If you don't see an email in your inbox you can go directly to this link and fill out your shipping info there:

https://casket-land.backerkit.com/

If you need some more info on how to use the module be sure to check out the alpha v.01 rules doc we made. You can grab it and some other printable stuffs at the new Casket Land website!

https://www.casket-land.com/

We're just waiting for the delivery of the Cloth Maps and DM Screens from the various printers where they exist and then the great shippen'ing begins. Thank you all so much for your patience while we get this all together, and for turning this tiny zine into a full on game. I can't even believe what's happened to Casket Land and I can't wait to see where it goes from here!

Best Laid Plans

Hey all!

So - I’ve been traveling like crazy (shout out to all of you I saw at DiNK - esp all you grave diggers! And the one IRL undertaker!) and me and my team have been working full tilt on getting this book to look as awesome as it can before getting it out to you.

A few things:

-- this book has doubled in size, we're getting the stuff pertinent to the adventure in the book and the rest into a now 20+ pg pdf that you'll all be receiving. There just wasn’t room in the 32 pages we had for all the art and story and rules. Wild! But the best decision.

-- There's so much art, I'm so proud of it, thank you all for making it happen!

-- Book is currently with the designer, and PDF is currently with an editor (hey Rob and Cory! Thanks for doing all this!)

-- Since this is shipping so soon we're going to skip BackerKit an send everyone a survey via Kickstarter this week for addresses.

-- For anyone who missed the Kickstarter, I've got a brand new online shop opening later this week that will have pre-orders available! That’ll also be where you can grab NOSFERATU! and extra Casket Land stuff if you want it!

Thank you all for your support! I’ll see you Canadian backers up at TCAF in like 2 weeks!

Onward...

Dust.

It's been so long since we've had clean air and healthy sun that I'm beginning to doubt those things ever existed.

TRICK - 0 BACKBONE - 0 SMOOTH - 0 BRAWN - 0 CREEP - 0 Luck - 0 Hits - 0
TRICK - 0 BACKBONE - 0 SMOOTH - 0 BRAWN - 0 CREEP - 0 Luck - 0 Hits - 0

After 2 weeks straight on the road, I'm finally back home in St. Louis. The picture above might not make it look like I survived, but trust me - I'm still kicking.Thank you to everyone who came by and saw me at Emerald City Comic Con and C2E2. Like...seriously.

THANK YOU.

Comic Cons are a serious drain. Being THAT social and THAT present for 2 weeks straight was pretty brutal on me, but every time a Casket Land backer came up to my table and told me how they were excited about the game, how they'd picked their character classes already (shout out to all you future Grave Diggers!), or yelled about monsters and mechanics with me I got a little bit of my stamina back. I'm truly touched (and if you met me at these cons...you'll know...SHOCKED) that this project means what it does to folks.

And if you missed me at ECCC or C2E2, no worries. I'll be at DiNK in Denver and TCAF up in Toronto real soon. Real, real soon.

Now that that's out of the way, let's fill you in on where things are at.

  • Funds have been transferred to my account.
  • Game art has essentially doubled

I'll start with the first one. Since I now have the funds, I can begin paying for production. In fact, as soon as I post this update, I'll be checking the final proof on the Casket Land patches and getting those into production so we'll have them in April. Everything else is being finished up to be sent off to printers so we can get this stuff to you ASAP.

Now, number two.

The game art has essentially doubled.

This means it's going to take a little longer to complete. It also means I gotta go back into the book and re-design some layouts and adjust some pages so everything fits nice and neat. Couple ALL of that with 2 weeks straight on the road, and it makes for an early (and I mean EARLY) PDF April release date. You all paid to have a beautiful game, and I'm not going to sacrifice quality art to March. I don't anticipate this effecting when we receive the printed books.

Streaming.

A few of you who came up at ECCC and C2E2 asked about streaming while I draw the physical art tiers. The idea of doing that kept rolling around in my head, and now I'm looking into setting that kind of thing up. I've only streamed on twitter and instagram before, so this is all new and weird, but it seems pretty cool and I'm excited to see if I can implement it into my workflow.

Anyway! Time to order these patches and draw some monsters.
